The first ability won't do squat. If there are creatures declared as blockers then taking them until end of turn wouldn't do much unless you had another combat phase. Also the wording is wrong.
The second ability is just useless because it's on an instant. It would need to be a permanent unless it works like the card Channel.

Pretty much this. The second ability makes just no sense :/
