I love how the flavor is not put in italic, so it could be both: Either flavor or an actual ability of the creature.

Well actually if a card has flavor text which must use italized text for emphasis, it reverts back to original form, so.......... you are 100% correct, it is unknown if it is flavor text or rules text.
