For the set I'm creating, one card allows you to copy a spell that you control, then another effect for if you cast so many spells last turn, would a copied spell count as a spell cast? Is this in the wrong section?

No, copies of spells are not "cast" they are like tokens, ethereal representations of that which is created with a card and is only temporary, but if you have something like an Isochron Scepter which specifically states "cast" then it does count towards having spells cast.
And while this may not fit metaboard to the dot, it certainly does best belong here.
