The altered spell will continue to resolve under its owner's control, and counts as a new spell. If you target an opponent's spell, then it becomes Stormshaper-as-a-Lightning Bolt. You can change your own spells if they're countered, and Stormshaper-as-a-Lightning Bolt will resolve as a new spell.
