I bought some kind of special edition at Gamestop back in February for six bucks... I still  haven't started it yet -.- i hear that the story is far better than Skyrim's.

I haven't played any other TES games but the story in this one is epic.

Amazing game. The fact that it's one of the few games where you can pretty much do anything you want, anytime you want, and there's no real obligation to even complete the storyline, make it (and the series) one of the most entertaining games around, IMO. And if you DO want to complete everything, you can expect it to take around 200+ hours. It's like the MMO that actually ends! (Not actually like an MMO at all, really, don't worry.)

I've played every numbered ES game and I'd say they keep getting better. Skyrim is Buggier than Oblivion though, and Oblivion has a better constructed main story.

Skyrim definitely also has its virtues, no doubt. Adding mining, smithing, and a couple other activities adds to the already numerous options about what to do next. My buddy spent like 15 hours or more just going around, killing wild animals, and making things for money and cheap level ups. Not that I recommend that approach, but the option is there.

The world of Skyrim is fairly approximate to, if not a little bigger than, Oblivion's, and of course it's beautiful to boot. Can't say that I'm a fan of the lockpicking approach of Skyrim though. Much prefer Oblivion's there. I don't know, overall I guess I'd say I like Oblivion more, but maybe I just haven't played Skyrim enough yet. Matter of fact, I know I haven't.
