Wellllllll, unless you're against burn whose job you're making tremendously simpler, a flying trampling indestructible 9/9 on turn 3 is pretty much AMAZING, and the 9 life payment is practically insignificant since you can equalize that once your next turn rolls around.
Oh, you're playing EDH where life totals are much bigger and you can use Dark Ritual? Get him out on turn 1, watch everyone panic as they are powerless to stop your rampage.
I strongly recommend you revise or remove the alternate cost.
