Riot control or?

Basically, I was wondering if there are any better sorceries or instants for damage prevention and life gain, because I have 4 riot controls in my deck and I feel 3-drop is a little too much (considering what it does I know it's worth it) but i want to know if there is anything better for less to cast?

This card a litte bit less effective but its a one drop.
