In MtG I always prefer the more spectacular cards, that can almost scale into infinity, like Primordial Hydra or Krenko. I'm also very fond of cards that turn into weirdass combos like Vizkopa Guildmage+Exquisite Blood or Aurelia+Cloudshift.
