This is the set me and Phase have been working on, the theme was that a group of mages have unlocked new-found secrets to the Aether,

and are now far more powerful with their loyal elementals. The idea was giving monoblue a way to win, without following slow precarious methods and control that it usually uses. Phase will be coming out with an example decklist using this set.

Edit: hammered out errors with most instants/sorceries

I very much like the idea of genesis elemental but just to be clear his ability was designed to cluster the field as more and more spells are cast correct?  (What I mean is that once you copy him once, the next time you cast a spell you now copy him twice; due to the first copy having the same effect.  Then as you play more spells he multiplies exponentially... making him a VERY useful 1/1 creature to throw at your opponents attackers... seeing as though you will just get more next turn)

One thing I had a bit of confusion with was Curse Of The Aether (aww no fancy key characters), its split second effect almost does nothing in addition to what it already does except harm you as well

But I really do like this, even if I don't play with blue (I really like Black corruption)  I might make my own set with the cockroach breeding/cloning idea   :D     VERY NICE!

Spell diverger is a bit over the edge when played with things like Grapeshot I guess, or maybe unspeakable insights, but the idea is these cards would have to be better then blue has had before, or it would have no point

On Genesis Elemental, yes, that was what I intended, heck you can even use elemental buff cards to use them to win, and if they attack in swarms, you will have tons of instances of inspired scrying, especially if you use keyword "untap all creatures you control" during combat, before they kill your elementals.

On curse of the Aether, the split second effect makes it so they can't use their mana to cast spells at instant speed before it disables them from casting anything.

Thanks for the feedback!

Oh by the way you might want to re-do Aether Alchemy, as in the second effect you never define X, although you might of meant to say that the creatures affected in the first effect make up X

And if I may, would you consider making a faction dedicated to spell casting and scry effects, I think it might be really cool to have a planeswalker that is the physical incarnation of the Aether, like "Aether, the Endless Void"  :)

Sorry for nit-picking the cards but Insightful Preperations also doesn't define "Storm",  I started playing Magic a year or so ago and haven't heard of this ability but this one does sound unique to this set  :)

Alright AEther Alchemy remade, and I will begin devising said faction. btw here is storm. (It has been around for a while, last reprinted in Modern Masters)

Storm (When you cast this spell, copy it for each spell cast before it this turn. You may choose new targets for the copies.)

I like the set as a whole and the deck list seems quite potent You have a wide range of answers with the numerous instants and sorceries and your wide range of scry effects easily helps to organise the deck in a particular way mastermind mage is quite situational so i would consider swaping him for another genesis or spellmare to truly capitalise on your large spell base to get quick wins which is what you said the set was about rather than normal control. genesis ramps fast in the deck and unspeakable insights and scrying bowl help to power through the matches early stages to find your trump cards while insightful preparations powers you through as a utility scry overall great card design and a great deck
